It was fine. Had all the points of interest that you need like restaurants, gas stations and hotels. The sound didn't work on mine however, and you'll need a more up to date one in bigger cities. But it does the job and is pretty user friendly, you don't need to be a genius or read the instructions to work it out. Also worth mentioning that the holder that sucks onto the windshield falls off when it gets really hot, so watch those desert journeys.

Worked right out of the box. Hard to tell that it is refurbished. It came with 6 voices and had the option to download more. Keep in mind that the maps are not the most current - the cost to download the current maps was more than the cost for the unit - but the maps that came with it worked fine for us. We gave this to our daughter - who is now an expert at getting off the jamed highway and finding her way on the back roads. This unit allows you to change the information that is displayed, although we just picked one display type and that is what we use all the time. This unit has a battery, so you can use it out of the car, and it came with an AC adapter so you could charge it at home - I guess a hiker could use it. We bought it for the low price, and it seems to work great - we recommend this GPS.

The unit works great but be warned, the map updates are not available on refurb units. This was a bummer for me.

This refurbished GPS came with everything the retail package comes with. However, I wasn't eligible for the free map update.
This GPS has only basic features, but that's all I really need it for. The GPS acquires satellite usually within a minute, and it's pretty quick (few seconds) at calculating and recalculating routes.
The touchscreen wasn't too responsive to my finger presses, so I use a stylus to operate the device. The stylus works very well. Make sure you get the (Official) Homer Simpson voice - it's hilarious!
